Northfield Promise partnered with the Northfield Public Schools and the Early Childhood Initiative Coalition to host a meeting in January of kindergarten teachers and early childhood providers from across the community. These semi-annual gatherings are a chance to build connections between the schools and early childhood providers.

Attendees reviewed the results of the kindergarten readiness assessment given to this year’s incoming kindergarteners and discussed additional activities that could be implemented to improve readiness. They also began discussions on the kindergarten roadmap – a Northfield Promise-supported effort to help outline key activities and local resources for families during their child’s first five years.

The group will meet again in April to discuss ways to enhance the sharing of preschool screening data with kindergarten teachers and the schools.
