Meet the nearly 30 local businesses and organizations that participated in this year’s expo!

On Friday, February 12, over 35 professionals from nearly 30 local businesses/organizations gathered in the Northfield High School (NHS) gymnasium to share career information with NHS and Arcadia sophomores. The Sophomore Career Expo is an annual event intended to expose students to a wide variety of careers, ranging from orthopedic surgeon to automotive tech maintenance to commercial airline pilot to human resources assistant! Students had an opportunity to review the professionals’ profiles ahead of the event and sign up for three presentations based on their career interests.

Spending 20 minutes with each presenter, students heard about career paths, postsecondary programs, and day-to-day work involved with each profession — information that will help them make decisions about their own future directions.

With course registration just around the corner, sophomores will be able to use the information they learned to make informed decisions about elective coursework that will help them further explore their interests and skills.
